The Women Empowerment Education and Peace Building Initiative (WEPBI), in partnership with the GRACA MACHEL TRUST (GMT), has successfully concluded a transformative three-day leadership and development training for adolescent girls in Enugu.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme, which brought together participants referred to as \u201cEagles,\u201d was designed not only to equip young girls with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to thrive as emerging leaders in their communities, but also to empower them to serve as mentors and trainers for other girls in their schools and neighborhoods. Through this approach, the initiative aims to create a ripple effect, expanding the impact of leadership, empowerment, and advocacy across a wider community of adolescent girls.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the course of the training, the girls participated in engaging sessions covering self-discovery, resilience building, entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, leadership development, and the importance of girl-child education. Facilitators emphasized the need for girls to recognize their potential, cultivate a resilient mindset, and take bold steps toward becoming active contributors to social and economic development. The sessions also encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper understanding of the role of adolescent girls in shaping a more inclusive society.<\/span><\/p>\n

The energy and growth displayed by the participants reaffirmed the purpose of the WEPBI\u2013GMT partnership, to create safe, supportive, and empowering spaces where girls can learn, lead, and influence positive change. As the training wrapped up, the participants expressed renewed confidence and a strong commitment to applying their new knowledge in their schools, families, and communities, as well as mentoring other young girls.<\/span><\/p>\n
