{"id":2203,"date":"2023-08-15T15:47:57","date_gmt":"2023-08-15T14:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/?p=2203"},"modified":"2023-08-15T15:48:04","modified_gmt":"2023-08-15T14:48:04","slug":"ebonyi-doctor-urges-increased-interventions-to-address-the-mortality-rates-among-pregnant-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/ebonyi-doctor-urges-increased-interventions-to-address-the-mortality-rates-among-pregnant-women\/","title":{"rendered":"Ebonyi Doctor Urges Increased Interventions To Address The Mortality Rates Among Pregnant Women"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"section-g00eceb\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e6 section-g00eceb gutentor-element gutentor-element-image\"><div class=\"gutentor-element-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/preggy.jpg\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Medical Officer in charge of General Hospital Ezzamgbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Dr. Ogbonna Nwambeke, yesterday solicited for more interventions from United States Agency for International Development (USAID)\u2013Health Integrated Programme (IHP) to enable the hospital tackle incidences of shortage in manpower, mortality among pregnant women and availability of drugs for patients in the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nwambeke added that the intervention from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)\u2013Health Integrated Programme (IHP) will boost healthcare delivery in the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Medical Doctor stated this while speaking with newsmen in Abakalikii<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to him, such intervention had in time past made the job of health workers easier in the face of daunting challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe situation in our hospital for instance was not easy until USAID-IHP assisted us through various interventions. These interventions include: training and re-training of staff, maternal\/ child health and family planning services, health education among others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He pointed out that the training and re-training on service delivery were mostly significant because they were rare in the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cUSAID-IHP provided us with needed materials to discharge our functions such as family planning commodities, surgical check-list among other working tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese items have aided us in making efficient diagnosis, treatments and offering general healthcare services to the people,\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nwambeke expressed happiness with the State government\u2019s approval for recruitment of health personnel, noting that the hospital was in dire need of such initiative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen these commodities are provided and no one to do the work, it is not desirable.
