{"id":1806,"date":"2023-02-16T11:35:27","date_gmt":"2023-02-16T10:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/?p=1806"},"modified":"2023-02-16T11:35:52","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T10:35:52","slug":"baby-dumped-in-a-latrine-by-mentally-challenged-mother-rescued","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/baby-dumped-in-a-latrine-by-mentally-challenged-mother-rescued\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Baby Dumped\u00a0 In a Latrine By Mentally Challenged Mother, Rescued.<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div id=\"section-ge42799\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e6 section-ge42799 gutentor-element gutentor-element-image\"><div class=\"gutentor-element-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/baby-1-1.jpg\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/baby-1-1.jpg 2x\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Kano State Fire Service on Wednesday said it rescued a newborn baby thrown inside a latrine by an alleged mentally challenged mother, (name withheld) at Sabon Titi quarters, Gidan Kankara in Kano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, who said that the incident occurred on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said that the service received a distress call from a member of its staff, Ibrahim Umar-Muhammad, around 10:49 a.m. and immediately dispatched a rescue team to the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that, \u201cupon receiving the information, we quickly dispatched our rescue team and a vehicle to the scene at about 10:54 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the statement, Muhammad said that the mentally challenged mother, who also had another six-year-old daughter, gave birth to the newborn and dumped the baby in a latrine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFortunately, the six-year-old daughter quickly raised an alarm on her mother\u2019s actions and with good efforts of neighbors and firemen, the baby was rescued alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the mother was handed over to her grandfather, Abubakar Umar-Usman of Sabon Titi quarters to take the newborn to hospital for medical attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What might have been the cause of this wicked act?
