When one deals with generalized insecurity for a long period of time, the doubt and negative feelings experienced may have a significant effect on life. Women in the  South-East region have been playing significant roles in security in spite of cultural, religious, and demographic challenges facing them. They are also the most affected by uncertainties and different types of insecurities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0In the light of this, <\/strong>WEPBI organized a 3-Day \u00a0training for community women at Amokwe in Udi L.G.A , Ndeagbor in Awgu L.G.A and Ikpamodo in Igbo-Eze North L.G.A\u00a0 respectively .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training which was geared towards educating them on the insecurities ravaging their various tagged \u2018Early Warning Systems to Reduce Community Vulnerabilities and Improve Preparedness in Addressing Insecurity\u2019<\/strong> \u00a0was attended by the women in the aforementioned communities , where they were trained on how to identify potential security threat in their environs, and how they can take preventive measures to see that those security threats are tackled from an early stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of the woman singled out FEAR among other factors that are making them not to report security issues in their communities as the major obstacle that is preventing them from reporting suspicious movements, that the culprits will end up attacking them whenever such issues are report adding that some of the neighborhood watch personnel are not objective in the cause of discharging their duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were advised on how to secretly report issues bordering on security threats to their traditional rulers first, then it can be relayed to the police, with that, their lives will not be endangered. They should also look for workable to adopt, a very good example is \u2018Non- formal social sanction\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0Finally, having in mind that the fight against insecurity is a collective fight, everyone has a role to play, together we will achieve a great result, which is to\u00a0 see that peace and calmness are restored in our various communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
