The society is now coming to terms that women have great things to offer. The most recent mile stone reached by a woman is the recent ordination of &nbsp;Nkechi Nwosu, as&nbsp; the first female Methodist &nbsp;bishop in Nigeria, a highly respected position in Christianity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A BREIF HISTORY&nbsp; ABOUT&nbsp; BISHOP NWOSU<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right Reverend Nkechi Nwosu is the first ordained female Bishop in Nigeria. She was ordained on Sunday, January 22, at the Christ Methodist Cathedral Church North Central as the Bishop of Jos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reverend Nkechi Nwosu was born on February 18, 1955 in Yaba, Lagos.She attended Ovim Girls Secondary School, Ovim, Abia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After her secondary school education, she gained admission to University of Nigeria, Nsukka where she studied Microbiology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She worked with the Plateau State Ministry of Health and was later employed by the State School of Nursing as a lecturer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 67-year-old got her Masters degree in Medical Entomology and Parasitology from University of Jos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She later went to University of Jos for her PhD programme in Zoology (Parasitology) where she obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Zoology (Parasitology).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"section-gb4b41a\" class=\"wp-block-gutentor-e6 section-gb4b41a gutentor-element gutentor-element-image\"><div class=\"gutentor-element-image-box\"><div class=\"gutentor-image-thumb\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"normal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/BISHOP-PICS.jpg\"\/><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bishop Nwosu started her ministerial career at Methodist Theological Institute in Sagamu, Ogun. where she obtained Diploma in Theology. Before this, she held various positions the Women\u2019s fellowship of the church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After her graduation, she became an ordained deaconess with Okitipupa to join the Deaconess Order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Family life:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The names of her parents are Golden and Agnes Okoronkwo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is married to Barrister Obiy J. Nwosu, who is the Lay President Emeritus, Diocese of Jos. Their marriage is blessed with four kids; Chijioke, Ijeoma, Kelechi and Onyinyechi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Achievements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aside being the first female Bishop in Nigeria, she is also the first ordained female Priest, first Cathedral Administrator and first Synod Secretary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is no limit to what we, as <strong>WOMEN,<\/strong> can accomplish<strong>!!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Women have over time proven their leadership spirit in all walks of life, &nbsp;even with all the threat they face when trying &nbsp;to get into leadership positions.
