{"id":1269,"date":"2022-08-06T07:42:05","date_gmt":"2022-08-06T06:42:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/?p=1269"},"modified":"2022-08-06T07:42:09","modified_gmt":"2022-08-06T06:42:09","slug":"nigerian-lady-beats-over-51840-applicants-to-win-uk-and-ireland-scholarships-at-the-same-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wepbi.com\/en\/nigerian-lady-beats-over-51840-applicants-to-win-uk-and-ireland-scholarships-at-the-same-time\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigerian Lady beats over 51,840 applicants to win UK and Ireland Scholarships at the same time"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;Oluwafunmilayo Oni a brilliant Nigerian Lady has emerged as one of the 2% applicants to win the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scholarshipregion.com\/study-in-uk-2022-chevening-scholarship-awards-for-international-students\/\">United Kingdom\u2019s Chevening Scholarship<\/a>, standing out over 51840 applicants that competed for the award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oluwafunmilayo did not only win the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scholarshipregion.com\/study-in-uk-2022-chevening-scholarship-awards-for-international-students\/\">UK Government Chevening Scholarship<\/a>&nbsp;Award, but she also won the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scholarshipregion.com\/study-in-ireland-2022-government-of-ireland-masters-fellowship-for-nigerian-students\/\">Irish Government Scholarship<\/a>&nbsp;at the same time both with a second-class lower Bachelor\u2019s degree certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oluwafunmilayo took to her LinkedIn handle to celebrate her achievement noting that she once doubted her ability to win any scholarship due to her Bachelor\u2019s degree grade. \u201cFor years, I doubted my ability to bag any scholarship for my Master\u2019s degree because many scholarships granting organizations often stated clearly that they would rather a minimum of 2:1 (second-class upper),\u201d she wrote on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She recalled that she once applied for a scholarship opportunity and was told that her leadership experience was superb and excellent but she did not meet the academic criteria because of her Bachelor\u2019s degree grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, she did not relent on her applications and strive to make an impact in the world. After several attempts, she was awarded two scholarships on the same day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThis year, I was awarded the Chevening Scholarship and the Irish Aid scholarship on the same day. See God!\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She explained that she will have to let one go as she cannot accept both scholarships for her Master\u2019s degree abroad. \u201cNow I have to choose 1. Both are fully funded with diverse opportunities and it pains me that I have to let one of them go,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She encouraged university graduates with a second-class lower degree not to be discouraged by their results but should stand firm to prove their intelligence to the world. \u201co, if you have a 2:2 like me, the journey might be slightly tougher but the world is your oyster!
