Enugu, Nigeria – December 20, 2024 – Today marked a historic moment as the 2024 Leadership Champions graduated from the Women Leadership Academy at a ceremony held at the Sparks Ventures Hub, Ogui Road, Enugu. The event brought together graduates, dignitaries, facilitators, and partners to celebrate the success of the academy and the empowerment of women who are now ready to make a significant impact in their communities.
Since its inception in 2019, the Women Leadership Academy, an initiative of WEPBI (Women Empowerment Education and Peace Building Initiative), has transformed the lives of over 2,000 women across Nigeria. Through this academy, women have been equipped with leadership skills, confidence, and the tools necessary to drive social and economic change. This year’s graduating class continues that legacy, poised to become the future leaders, change-makers, and visionaries of tomorrow.
The event was highlighted by the recognition of Ibemere Ogemdi Esther as the Overall Best Student for her exceptional academic performance, leadership qualities, and dedication throughout the program.
WEPBI’s Executive Director, in her address to the graduands, encouraged them to continue pursuing their passions and making meaningful contributions to society. She said, “This is just the beginning. Continue to lead with courage, let your light shine brightly, and never stop making a difference in your communities.” Her message resonated deeply, motivating the graduates to carry the mantle of leadership into their personal and professional lives.
The Women Leadership Academy 2024 was conducted in partnership with Sparks Ventures Hub, ensuring that this year’s program was one of the most impactful yet. The partnership continues to strengthen WEPBI’s mission to promote women’s inclusion in leadership roles and good governance.
This graduation marks a significant milestone for the Women Leadership Academy, as the academy continues to play a crucial role in empowering women to become active leaders, advocates, and drivers of change in Nigeria.
