Women Empowerment Education and Peace Building Initiative(WEPBI) has again amongst other success stories included one to them as many traditional rulers in Enugu confirm the inclusion of women in their cabinet and other ruling seats in their cabinet.
The traditional rulers who came from different communities and local governments in Enugu state made this confirmation at the engagement discussion held today as organized by WEPBI in continuation and follow up to discuss the challenges and way forward in their women inclusion in leadership project.
The traditional rulers in their report mentioned that the inclusion of women in their cabinet has yielded a lot of reasonable results by helping them and enhancing the smooth running and ruling of their different communities.
The traditional rulers said that they had to revisit and amend their constitution to initiate into it the right to include women in the cabinets which they saw as a welcomed development.
To further strengthen women inclusion in leadership and other roles, some of the traditional rulers said that they have also added women to their neighborhood watch security system.
The Executive Director of WEPBI Mrs. Joy Oguadimma appreciated the traditional rulers and promised to visit all the communities for the proper inauguration of the women.
The gathering recorded the presence of some traditional rulers from Udi local government, Igbo Eze North Local Government and Aniri local government areas.
