WEPBI now officially managing six (6) CBOs in Enugu

Under the WVL project, the Women Empowerment Education and Peace Building Initiative (WEPBI) has been assigned to manage Six (6) community-based organizations (NGOs) in Enugu state. Officially meeting with CBOs yesterday, the Executive director of WEPBI, Oguadimma Ijeoma Joy, charged the women to fasten their belts and get ready to work.

According to her, delivering positively on the project is very easy but needs a lot of commitment. She reaffirmed her commitment to making sure they continue to progress while achieving all the success stories expected, but that will be effective If they put positive energy into the work.

Citing an example, the ED said that such CBOs in the Northern part of the country are doing marvelous, achieving a lot, but then the story is different in Enugu, but that should be a story of the past as WEPBI will give them all the managing strategies and necessary skills and support to move in the right angle.

She charged them to make sure they ask questions at any point they are faced with challenges in the discharge of their duty. Questions on programs can be directed to the programs officer of WEPB, Loveth Ugochukwu, while those in finance can contact Anigbo Cherechi, the WEPBI finance officer for clarification.

Some of the women complained that their major problem is few of them that show a lackadaisical attitude towards writing and submitting their budget, report, and concept notes on time. On that note, the ED WEPBI said they should try to help each other and always confront smoothly those that are lagging to pick up a good working spirit so that they will keep on getting the allocated fund for their project.

The program officer Loveth Ugochukwu took some time to explain some parts of the project and work that the women pointed out as challenging to them. They were all presented by the ED with a memorandum of understanding and other necessary documents that are meant for the project.
