The guest speaker of the event, Mrs.Akobundu chinyere, who is a lecturer in the university did justice to the topic by telling the women that “there is a great need for them to be accustomed with what is happening in the digital space, explaining to them that everything has gone digital.
She went ahead to highlight some of the challenges women face in the digital space, which includes; Digital gender divide, marriage, motherhood, inherent basis among others, She added that as women, they can share their content online to gain more recognition and that the best time to start is now”

Besides economic benefits, enhancing women’s safe and equal access to digital technologies offers immense opportunities to address development and humanitarian challenges and spark innovative and creative solutions that meet women’s needs and promote their empowerment.
Women’s participation in the digital sphere is therefore not just a matter of gender equality – it is a prerequisite for sustainable development.
The duty of empowering women is enormous, and gender equality demands it. In addition, a culture that values women equally and does not take them for granted is a better society. Women used to be confined to their houses and prohibited from leaving the place to work.
Women in the current day no longer rely on men. She is capable of accomplishing everything like men and is independent and self-assured. Additionally, we should respect each of them for their unique identities rather than their gender.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION!
