Two suspected ritualists have been set ablaze by angry mob in Ede-Oballa community, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu state on Monday, following their alleged connection to the killing and removing of private parts of a little girl in the community.
According report gathered by Daily Sun, it was said that the girl was the little daughter of late Igwe Philip Ugwu of Umuidu, who they said went missing few days ago and was later discovered dead with her eyes and her private parts removed.
A community with name withheld told our reporter that the little girl was found dead a day after she was declared missing.
“The girl who was about 10 years old was initially declared missing and the next day she was found dead with her body badly mutilated.
“Her eyes was plugged out, her private parts were cut off and taken away by the suspected ritualists.
“Triggered by the incident, the elders and youths in the community went out of their way in search of what happened to the little girl.
“On the process it was uncovered that some members of the community has connection in the killing, two person was arrested by the member of the neighborhood watch, but the angry mob overpower them from handing them over to the police and set them ablaze,” the source said.
The source identified the suspects simply as Ifeanyi, a Native Doctor and Chidera noted that they are both from the community, stressing that they might have killed the girl and removed her body parts for money ritual.
Following some confrontations, the two suspects admitted to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness but the angry mob kept their ears closed and went on to set them ablaze.
