We are living in a country where the evil bell has continued to ring nonstop, without anyone thinking of pausing it. From time immemorial, the citizens of this rotten nation have been tirelessly working from hand to mouth, but presently it has shifted to us eating directly with our mouth from the soil.
So many people have tried to find the best word or phrase to explain the state of the nation, but today considering the failure in their mission, I have decided to say that we are living in a “MORE EVIL, LESS GOOD” nation.
Where can I start? is it from the killing or kidnapping? Should I start with the banditry or church massacres? What if I talk about the high prize of stuffs in the market that has caused a tremendous hardship to the poor citizens? What about rape, robbery, fraud, marriage disasters, corruption, family wars and so on.
Open up the newspapers, tune in to your radio set, or switch on your television and tell me what you see and hear. Stories of strange deaths, wailing of the poor masses, song of sorry from all angels, but then our leaders are up there struggling for the national treasury.
While we perish in the street trying to fill our dining tables with something for the children quench their hunger, we have our hearts in our hands, for no one knows if the next minute he will still be alive.
The youths are jobless and now students are left to room the street as their schools has been shot down without any hope of reopening.
While all these keeps happening, we still get to hear that hug amount of money that can take care of our needs and drag our feet back to joy has been stolen by one person, that it has been swallowed by a snake or taken away by a monkey. A nation where animals steal and go scot-free, but human that ask for simple right get killed.
Facts and figures are no more needed as prove for what is being said, for even the blind can feel the pain and the deaf can now hear the sound of hardship.
What is war again if not this, what is disaster if not what is with us now, what is a caused nation, if not one like this ours, when shall we call the gods for help if not now, for now things has really fallen apart.
Pastors have prayed likewise the priests of God and that of the gods, but now it is obvious that we should accept that we have been forsaken.
But as it stands, we have no option than to wake up and seek for the better life we wish.
