KIDNAPPERS DEMANDS N10M RANSOM AND WILL ACCEPT ONLY THE NEW NAIRA NOTES.

The terrorists, according to a resident of the attacked village, later agreed to N5 million ransom after a series of negotiations, but insisted that they would only collect the recently-unveiled naira notes.

Some yet-to-be identified kidnappers, who invaded Kolo village, in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, and abducted four persons consisting a man, woman and two children, have demanded N10 million ransom.

According to an indigene of the community, one Mohammed Ibrahim, the assailants, after much negotiations, later reduced the ransom to N5 million.

Ibrahim said while the people in the village were doing everything within their power to ensure that the money is realized,  the to ensure that the victims are released, but they got a message from the bandits notifying them that they would only collect the ransom in new naira notes.

“They said they categorically stated that they would keep the abducted persons in their camps until the release of the new naira notes in December, according to Ibrahim.
