The executive and members of the association of public transport, Tricycle known as Keke and Motorcycle also known as Okada in Igbo Eze North and Igbo Eze South Local Government Areas, have resolved that no Keke or Okada should operate from 6 pm to 6 am.
This was resolved in an emergency meeting of the association on the 7th of June, 2022 to address the security situation in the local governments.
According to them, the security issue is taking a higher dimension and something to reduce it must be done immediately to stop the loss of lives and remove fear from the local dwelling villagers, especially women and children.
In addition to that, the association also resolved that no Tricycle (Keke) or motorcycle (Okada) should operate in Aguibeje and Iyionu Communities respectively, from now till further notice, owing to the serious security issues that are besieging the above communities.
They then requested that all the security agencies should help out to enforce these resolutions as it will help to protect the lives of the citizens of the local governments.
They also pleaded with their members in the affected Local Government Areas and communities to comply strictly with the resolution for their good and the good of the people.
