As a result from the success made through sensitizing women on leadership, WEPBI is proud to say that community women trained over years have gathered skills and capacity in leadership and were able to transfer that knowledge gained to other women as a result of an assignment given to them by the Executive director, Oguadimma joy Ijeoma.
The result obtained from the assignment is given as follows:
- In Amokwe, Mrs Aneke Gladys Idedu carried out a sensitization to other community women on the inclusion of women in politics and leadership with the importance of voter’s registration and the rights of women in the society during their town hall women meetings.
- In Ikpamodo, Mrs Idoko Virginia Anyanwu lectured about 40 other women on the importance of women inclusion in politics and leadership in their community. Also, Lolo Eze Francisca was seen sensitizing other women on the need for women to partake in public speaking, the difference between culture, politics and the benefits of women participation in politics.
- In Ndeaboh, Mrs Chukwuemeka Christiana (Coordinator of Ndeaboh Ward) sensitized community women on the meaning of politics and the women shared their view on the limitation they face in regards to participating in politics and leadership. From their experience, it was discovered that: Their husbands don’t support them and thus, view them as prostitute. After elections, no positive position are given to them in their local government, During allocation, women are not remembered and not represented.
In accordance to this, WEPBI has demonstrated a great significance by engaging stake holders in increasing the participation of women in politics through dialogue especially at the grass root level.
PICTURE MORSEL FROM COMMUNITY WOMEN PEP-TALK

With the pictures posted here, we can see that the women are moving faster in leadership participation.
It is only women that can restore peace and unit in the family, Local Government, State level and in entire country.
There is an adage which said ” man is head of house but woman is home”
A community that lacks women contribution in her decision making is like a desert. A desert can never produce fruits nor water for a heathy leaving.
Thank you so kindly ma, for this great contribution and for been a part of the voice for women. together we can make this change
