Pregnant Woman Rescued from Domestic Violence in Mushin, Perpetrator Apprehended

In a recent development, the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) successfully intervened in a distressing case of domestic violence in the Mushin area of the state. Executive Secretary Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi revealed that the agency received a distress call from a mandated reporter regarding the alleged assault of a pregnant woman by her husband.

The distressing incident involved the physical assault of an expectant mother, who was subsequently locked inside her Mushin apartment by her partner. The severity of the attack resulted in the pregnant woman losing consciousness. Fortunately, vigilant neighbors promptly intervened, rescuing her and rushing her to the general hospital for urgent medical attention.

Mrs. Vivour-Adeniyi emphasized the agency’s commitment to ensuring the safety of survivors and holding perpetrators accountable. Following the distress call, DSVA promptly reported the case to the police, leading to the swift apprehension of the alleged perpetrator by officers from the Mushin police station.

Despite the apprehension of the suspect, the survivor remains in an unconscious state. DSVA encourages the public to break the culture of silence surrounding domestic violence and report such incidents promptly.
